How can I schedule an appointment?

All appointments are booked directly through the website. This gives you full control to view real-time availability and manage your schedule at your convenience. I do not accept bookings by phone or email to ensure I can focus entirely on the client currently in the chair.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Need to make a change? Life happens, and you can easily manage this yourself 24/7! Whether you need to cancel or just pick a new time, the process is identical and takes only a few seconds.

Two easy ways to do it yourself:

  1. Via your Confirmation and or Reminder Email: Open the confirmation email you received when booking. Click the link inside to modify your booking instantly. Can't find it? Check your spam/junk folder or your trash folder.

  2. Via the Cuts and Curls App: If you can't find the email, simply use our app. Log in with the same details you used to book, and you can manage everything right there.

Important Rules: To keep the schedule running smoothly for everyone, changes, and cancellations must be made within specific time windows. If you modify your appointment outside these windows (or don't show up), the system will automatically charge 100% of the treatment price.

  • Haircuts: Up to 6 hours in advance.

  • Colour / 2 Persons: Up to 10 hours in advance.

  • Complex treatments (Bleach/Highlights): Up to 24 hours in advance.

Please note: Cancellations or changes cannot be processed via WhatsApp, SMS, or phone. You must use the link in the confirmation email or through the App.

I am running late. What should I do?

I ask everyone to arrive 5 minutes early to settle in. Because I operate on a strict 1-on-1 schedule to give you my undivided attention, late arrivals may result in a lost time slot. If you have a prepaid appointment and arrive too late to complete the service, the appointment will be cancelled without reimbursement.

I forgot when my appointment is.

No worries. You can easily find the date and time of your appointment in the confirmation email or the SMS you received immediately after booking. Alternatively, you can log in to the Cuts and Curls App, where all your upcoming visits are listed clearly.

  • Tip: The confirmation email always includes an ICS file attachment. If you open this on your phone or computer, the appointment is instantly added to your digital calendar.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No. To guarantee that you receive my full, undivided attention without interruptions, I work strictly by appointment only. You can easily check availability and book your spot 24/7 via the online booking system on this website.

What are the opening hours?

I am available to look after your hair Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00, Friday from 11:00 to 20:00, and Saturday from 07:00 to 17:00. The salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays (with occasional Monday openings for special events).

Can I call the salon to ask a question or book?

You are welcome to call +31 (0)20 6246 881 for urgent, time-sensitive matters during opening hours. For non-urgent questions, please use the contact form. To maintain a tranquil environment for every client, I do not interrupt treatments to take appointment bookings over the phone.

Where is the best place to park, or which tram stop should I use?

Since the salon is located in the heart of Amsterdam, I recommend coming by bike or public transport if possible.

  • Public Transport: The closest stop is Leidseplein ( 5 minutes walk), which is served by Trams 1, 2, 5, 7, 12, and 19. Metro to Vijzelgracht and walk 10 min from there.

  • Parking: Street parking in the centre is scarce and expensive. If you are driving, the most convenient parking garages are Q-Park Byzantium (Tesselschadestraat 1G, ~9-min walk) or ParkBee Nassaukade (Nassaukade 380, ~10-min walk).

The Salon & Concept

Is the salon men-only?

Yes, Cuts and Curls is exclusively for men (both cis and trans men are welcome). I have chosen to specialize entirely in male grooming to offer you the highest level of expertise in men’s cuts and styles.

Can I bring a friend, partner, or my child to wait?

I kindly ask that you come to your appointment alone. The salon’s philosophy, “Attention is the new luxury,” relies on a 1-on-1 focus in a calm, low-stimulus environment. There is no capacity or waiting area for guests.

Can my friend and I get a haircut at the same time?

Since I work alone, I cannot cut two heads at once. However, you can book the “2 Men” arrangement. This books a double time slot where I help you one after the other.
Please note: This is the only exception to the “come alone” policy. Both guests must be receiving a treatment.

Do you cut children's hair?

No, Cuts and Curls is strictly for adult men of 18 years and older.

Is the salon wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, no. The salon is located in a historic building with a narrow entrance and steep steps to the restroom, which makes it inaccessible for wheelchair users .But I am willing to help You inside if that is an option for you.

Are there animals in the salon?

Yes, my rescue dog, Loki, is always present. He might greet you with a bark when you enter but settles down quickly. If you are uncomfortable with dogs or have an allergy, please be aware of his presence before booking./ there are 2 air cleaning systems in the salon with hepa filters.

Can I bring my dog?

Please do not bring pets to the salon. However, your registered assistance/service dog is always welcome. If you are bringing a service dog, please let me know in advance so I can ensure Loki is secured behind the desk.

The salon is Saturdays by appointment early open at 06:50 AM ,many expats early risers and nightshift staff use these timeslots .

Rates & Payment

May I pay with cash?

No, for safety and efficiency, the salon is a cash-free zone. Payment is only accepted via PIN (debit) or Credit Card.

Will the rates change in 2026?

Effective January 1, 2026, a price update will apply. This is a standard indexation based on inflation correction. The new rates are already integrated into the system; when you book an appointment for the new year, the booking tool will automatically display the applicable rate for your service.

What are the rates for a haircut?

My starting rate for a complete Men's Haircut is €56,50. This includes a consultation, wash, cut, and styling. Buzz Cut / Millimetre Cut is €43,50 (one length, no fade/ max 2 positions-guards ).

How much does beard grooming cost?

I offer a combined Haircut + Beard Grooming service from €66,-. Note: This is a grooming service to shape and style the beard; I do not offer traditional shaves.

Why do prices vary for “Big Hair” or Makeovers?

Time is the most valuable asset in a 1-on-1 salon. If you have very thick hair, haven't had a cut in months, or want a completely new style (makeover), I need more time to guarantee a perfect result. Therefore, these appointments are priced higher (starting from €87,-) to accommodate the extra care required.

Do you offer beard grooming services?

Yes. My passion for male grooming extends beyond hair; I offer beard trimming and styling designed specifically to complement your haircut and face shape.

What products are used?

I work exclusively with premium brands selected for their quality and performance on men's hair, including DEPOT®, American Crew, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree, I.C.O.N., GODDESS and FUENTE.

Do you do colour treatments?

Yes, I offer a range of colour services including multi-colour, double process colours, highlights, and bleaching. Please note that these complex treatments require a longer time slot and a 24-hour cancellation notice. A pre appointment consultation and test is mandatory. These complex colours are only done at the end of a day

Can I book a colour treatment directly?

No. If you are looking for colour (Grey blending, Highlights, or Bleach), you must contact me for a consultation first. These are complex treatments that require a specific time block. If you book a colour slot without speaking to me beforehand, I will have to cancel the appointment.

I have specific hair or scalp issues. Is advice available?

Absolutely. With professional experience dating back to 1989, I provide tailored advice for your specific needs. The salon is also equipped with HEPA/UV-C air purifiers for a healthy environment, and I utilize specific products to promote scalp health.
